Who would have thought that the Girl Scouts and the American Taekwondo Association would be sucah a great partnership?  It’s easy to realize when you compare the missions of each organization, the ATA oaths and the Girl Scout Promise and Law.  Let’s take a look…

Girl Scout Mission

To build girls of courage, confidence, and charachter, who make the world a better place.

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor I will try:

To serve God and my country.

And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law

and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

ATA Mission

To make the world a better place by teaching the values of courtesy, loyalty, respect, perseverance, honor, integrety and self-control through martial arts.

Songham Spirit of Taekwondo

I will practice in the Spirit of Taekwondo,
with Courtesy for fellow students,
Loyalty for my instructor,
and Respect for my Juniors and Seniors.

I shall live with Perseverance in the Spirit of Taekwondo,
Having Honor with others,
Integrity within myself,
And Self Control in my actions.

Karate for Kids Oath (7-12 years)

Each day I will live
By honoring by parents and instructors
Practicing to the best of my ability
and by having courtesy and respect
for everyone I meet.
